The Nantes sites of the Ministry for Europe and Foreign Affairs have 1,200 staff, about a quarter of the central administration of the ministry, making it the most offshored ministry.
Nantes services are divided into two areas of expertise:

• the consular department, consisting of the central civil status service, the France-Visas service, the identity and travel document processing centre, and the France-Consulaire service. These services provide the main public service mission of the Nantes sites;
• the support hub for the diplomatic and consular network in terms of continuing education, digital technology, financial management, human resources support, and diplomatic archives.
  The visit of the sites in Breil includes an architectural presentation of the buildings; exchanges with ministry officials on the professional career path between France and positions abroad; examples of innovative projects serving citizens and the modernization of the ministry.
